eBay recently launched a new tool. Setify is an organizational tool for eBayers, it's a place to showcase your collection, and search for those missing pieces you so badly need. With Setify, eBay is focusing on the comic book collectors, coin collectors, and others that really put eBay on the map many years ago. (eBay began as a place where collectors could find items for their collections and has evolved into the marketplace we know today.)

Comic book and coin collectors sound a little "geeky", or "nerdy" to you? Well, you aren't alone. In fact, Setify has been described by some as the "nerdiest Pinterest ever".

While Setify is limited to comic books and coins right now, eBay has promised a launch into other various categories in the future. However, exactly what categories will be included in the are yet to be announced.

When you visit the Setify site, you will see why it's been referred to as a "Pinterest for Geeks". The layout of putting each individual item in it's own "block" or "square", and arranging 3 to a row really does lend that Pinterest feel to it.

Right now Setify is in "beta" mode. If you'd like to join you'll need an eBay account. Just login to your eBay account, and then request an invite to join by visiting the eBay Setify site. Once new invites are being released, you will be on the list to receive one.

There are several trends that have helped determine the market for pet products in general and on eBay. Understanding these trends can help you know what products to buy and sell. The pet niche is very popular - many items are consumable (must be replaced on a regular basis), consumers with more disposable income tend to lavish their pets, and spoiling a pet is just fun. Add pet products to your list of products to sell online.

One of the biggest trends is owners who travel with their pets. People don’t want to leave their pets behind, so they buy products that will make the trip easier - from strollers to climate controlled carriers. And the more stylish the items are, the happier they are.

Another very popular product to sell online is luxury pet products. It has grown tremendously and is the top seller in pet products. People will pay very large amounts of money to insure that their pets get the best products possible. Customers who shop for luxury pet products are normally well to do and will typically buy sets of products - such as matching sweaters (for pet and human) and a matching carrier. But don’t limit yourself to clothing and carriers - people are now purchasing pet perfume, jeweled collars, indoor pet bathrooms (that run several hundred dollars), shoes for their dogs, costumes, spa products, pet nail polish, etc.

Even for those with smaller budgets, pet clothing is very popular. Many people purchase (sometimes designer) clothing for their pets. No matter what style people want, it can be found.

Eco friendly items are also popular. Offering eco friendly and organic products can be a great way to reach more buyers, as many people are looking for these items (and are willing to spend more to get them).

Finally, make sure you don’t limit yourself to only “traditional” pets. Exotic pets are also gaining in popularity - pets such as ferrets, rats, gerbils, chinchillas, pot belly pigs, fish, reptiles, turtles, etc. These pet owners are also looking for products for their pets, so be sure not to leave them out.

Many fishermen collect vintage fishing lures. Collecting lures is a hobby that has a lot of nostalgia and encourages appreciation of handcrafted work and creativity. A lot of fishermen enjoy collecting vintage lures because it helps them remember “the good old days” and learning to fish.

Lure collectors use various criteria for their collections – some focus on design, others on materials used or the company that produced the lures. Some even collect based on color. In some cases, collectors are able to find the lures in their original package.

Vintage fishing lures were made predominantly by small manufacturers. Because mass marketing didn’t really exist at that point in time, it was easy for the creator to design unique lures that smaller stores in the area would feature. This unique charm is a lot of the reason that vintage lures are a popular collectible for fishermen and others. The uniqueness of vintage lures has also impacted their value – because there is a limited supply, the value has stayed fairly consistent.

Because fishing technology was not very advanced, the majority of vintage lures are much larger than modern lures. If you’re looking for true vintage lures, keep an eye out for wooden plugs made by South Bend, Arbogast, Heddon, and Creek Chub. You can even sometimes find these lures in a family member’s old tackle box.

Fishing tackle may be shinier and more advanced now, but it can’t compete with the charm of vintage lures. Vintage lures are gaining value as collectibles, and will always be sought after.
